To take the exam, you need to download **Safe Exam Browser (SEB)** on the computer you plan to use for the test. It is essential to take a **practice test (Demo/Læst prufupróf)** to ensure everything works properly on exam day. Ideally, you should download the browser and complete the practice test a few days before the exam, so there’s enough time to assist anyone who might need help — it’s not good to spend part of the exam time on technical setup.
**Please note that the minimum operating system version for Mac computers is macOS 12.1 **— the browser cannot run on older versions.
**Be aware that the computer may use more power than usual** — therefore, we recommend having your charger with you during the exam so that you can charge your device if needed.
**Sometimes, problems occur when starting the exam, causing a red screen to appear. We recommend closing all programs and browser tabs before entering the exam to prevent this error**.
**We also recommend removing any older versions of SEB before installing a new one, as issues have occurred when multiple versions are installed on the same computer.**

Find the SafeExam application in “Applications” and drag it to the Trash, or right-click and select “Move to Bin.”
After that, empty the Trash.
To download SEB, click the **Inspera icon** at the bottom of the **red bar** in Canvas.

If you need to log in, use the same account that you use for Ugla and Canvas.
Once you’re logged into Inspera, select **Demo tests** at the top right and choose **Læst prufupróf**. Click “**Click here to get ready**.”
Now you need to download the **SEB browser**. You can do this by clicking **Download**.
Select your **operating system**, then **download and install** the browser.

To install the browser, open the file and drag **“SafeExam”** into the **“Applications”** folder.

**“This browser is not correct”**: You need to **clear the browsing data (cookies and cache)** from your browser — see the relevant section in the instructions.
**Locked screen with red background**: **End the test** using the password **HAprufa1**, and check the relevant section of the instructions.

You can now safely **close the SEB browser**. If the browser asks for a **password to close**, it means you haven’t submitted the test yet.

## **Interface settings in the exam:**
You can click the **three lines in the top right corner** of the exam to **adjust the interface settings**.

1. **Contrast** – here you can adjust the exam **background**.
2. **Text size** – here you can **increase the font size** to suit your preference.
3. **Hide or show remaining time** – here you can choose whether or not to **display the remaining exam time**.
Click the **X in the top right corner** to close the settings and start the exam.
